Create a Site Baseline from a Property Address

Use an address to load a Google-hosted flat 2D building-footprint map, switch to satellite for verification and calibrate the working area.

Enter the service address

Open Site Reference, enter the complete street address and choose Generate Site Baseline.

Why this mattersThe address anchors the project. Flat 2D becomes available after an administrator configures a Static Maps Map ID with a published Cloud style using Buildings → Footprints.

Frame the correct property area

Zoom up to 10× and adjust horizontal and vertical focus until the building, parking or exterior area needed for the design is centered.

Why this mattersPlan Studio recalculates the visible width and height from the selected focus so route estimates remain tied to what is actually shown.

Review the flat 2D building view

Use Flat 2D for a clean Google-hosted building-footprint view, then switch to Satellite to confirm you selected the correct property.

Why this mattersThe two modes use live Google map images with attribution; they do not create or save an editable outline copied from Google imagery.

Calibrate with a known distance

When a precise field measurement is available, compare it with the estimated plan dimension and adjust the full-plan width or height.

Why this mattersMap-derived dimensions are estimates; a verified wall, aisle or property dimension improves cable takeoffs.

Save the baseline

Name the site reference, save the draft and continue to equipment placement.

Why this mattersThe project saves its address reference and reloads a current signed map view when reopened; use Upload Floor Plan when you need a permanently editable plan you own.
